You count!  Before April 1, 2010, make sure you are counted!
The U.S. Constitution requires a national census once every ten years to count the population residing within the United States. This is done for multiple reasons, including:
determining the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives determining the boundaries for state and local legislative and congressional districts determining the yearly allocation of more than $400 Billion of federal money which is based, in part, on census data determining locations for retail stores, schools, hospitals, new housing developments, and other community facilities determining how a community is changing In July of 2009, Addison Mayor Joe Chow issued a proclamation calling for the formation of a Complete Count Committee and invited 5 citizens to be members of that committee.  I am proud to be one of the Complete Count Committee members for Addison, Texas.
During the 1990 Census, Addison had only a 43% response rate and has been deemed by the Census Bureau as a "hard to count" area.  The Addison Complete Count Committee has been hard at work figuring out ways to reach the hard-to-count population in the Town of ... more
