The Wind Chill is 15 Below! Let's Go Fishing!
 
 
Last weekend, I drove out to Tarryall Reservoir. While I have spent much time in the Tarryall Valley, I had never gone as far as the reservoir. So, since the weather folks said the day would be fair, (they lied), I went. On the way, I hit a snow storm, and almost turned back, but luckily it was short lived. The cold, however was NOT. By the time I got to the reservoir, it was a balmy 23 degrees, and the wind was blowing like it was it's last chance. Now, help me out here. This is something I just don't get. When the weather is so bitter, and you want to eat fish, why not just go to the grocery store and buy it? With the news full of stories of record low temperatures, 30 to 40 degrees lower than normal over 35% of the country, and death after death is being attributed to the cold, why hang out on a frozen body of water with a hole in it, fishing pole and beer in hand?
