We posted some information a few weeks ago about the upcoming Census and if you're like most of us, we're pretty cautions about who and how much information you give out. Especially, given the technological age we live in, anybody can sound legitimate but they may not be.  We felt it was important once again to remind you of some pertinent details that might help put your mind at ease:
While you are advised to be cooperative, you should also be very cautious, so as not to become a victimof fraud or identity theft.
FYI:  The first phase of the 2010 U.S. Census is underway as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across thecountry. Eventually, more than 140,000 U.S. Census workers will count everyperson in the United States and will gather information about every personliving at each address including name, age, gender, race, and other relevantdata.  HOW DO YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A U.S. CENSUS WORKER AND A CON-ARTIST?
If a U.S. Census worker knocks on your door, they will have a badge, ahand held device, a Census Bureau canvas bag, and a confidentiality notice.Ask to see their identification and their badge before answering theirquestions. NEVER INVITE ANYONE ... more
