Home Sale Activity - Oak Mountain Area
The Oak Mountain area is located in North Shelby County, bordered by Oak Mountain and Double Oak Mountain on the south and the Cahaba River on the North. Many homes have fabulous views and Oak Mountain State park borders many of the properties. The older neighborhoods have large trees and this valley in my opinion is one of the prettiest parts of the state.  
What was the Real Estate Market like in Oak Mountain area during December? There were 64 home sales in December '09.  This was UP slightly from the 57 that closed in November.  Prices ranged from $119,200 for a 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath townhome in Riverwoods to $791,536 for a 5 Bedroom 5.5 Bath in Brook Highland (no million + homes this month). Seven Homes sold in Edenton with prices ranging from $219,000 to $279,500.  Six homes sold in Greystone Legacy with prices from $321,500 to $740,000. The average sales price was $327,750 (up from $301,573 in November) with sold properties getting an average of 94.91% of list (this is lower than other parts of Birmingham metro).
