Blazing Trails
Last summer while visiting Spain, we crossed the arid desert between Mojacar and Almedina and witnessed the back bone of vegetable and fruit growing for Europe and North Africa.  The area is so hot and dry that everything must be grown under a tent.  We saw covered garden areas between the horizon in every direction.
A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson came to mind:
"DO NOT GO WHERE THE PATH MAY LEAD; GO INSTEAD WHERE THERE IS NO PATH AND LEAVE A TRAIL."
