Log Blog--Okay...it's true. I don't know everything.
There's nothing quite more humbling than realizing you're not as smart as you thought you were.  I think one of the first time's I realized that was when I was on my own and had no clue on how to stop a toilet from overflowing.  I was on the phone with my Dad holding a plunger in one hand and getting step by step instructions and using my foot to mop up the floor with a towel at the same time.  Humbling. 
I have been in the real estate business for nearly 17 years and have made plenty of mistakes along the way.  I have worked this business from just about every angle...listing agent, buyers agent, on-site production homes, custom homes...and now log homes.  Some knowledge translates...some doesn't.  The one thing I thought was universal was selling in general.  It DOES translate...well...for the most part.
I came into working for Southland Log Homes with both guns blazing...ready to tear it up and show them how it was done.  It took about six months before I realized that I didn't know it all.  Selling log homes was a different animal.  It wasn't selling someones existing home.  It wasn't selling a production home.  It wasn't selling ... more
