Valentines Day
I truly guess I have to apologize upfront but here goes. "I'm sorry that I don't buy into Valentines Day".
I've been married to my wonderful husband for over 32 years. I've known him for 44 years - since high school. I'm a romantic at heart, love movies like "While You Were Sleeping", "The Notebook", "Thornbirds", and a few others, but Valentine's Day - get real.
My husband is so good. He buys me flowers, cards, tools, you know, the common gifts. This year I finally said, "Please don't buy me a card, don't send me flowers".  Is that tacky? I don't think so. Cards go in the trash, I feel like it's an obligation. Flowers die and they cost too much.
Sorry to sound like I don't care, but I do.  My grandbabies made me cards. They range in age from almost 1 to 3. This is what shows love! A handmade card. They don't even write yet but are sooo proud to give me a card.
My valentines day will consist of me, my hubby being here, my grandbabies near me and my incredible daughters and their husbands in a family setting that means more than any card, flowers or material things could ... more
