Thoughts about living on an island in the Pacific and tsunamis:
When I went to sleep it was a tsunami watch but when my phone rang at 4:50 am it was a message to all the agents from Jack Leslein, our Broker, to say it had become a warning and it was headed towards us.
Then the sirens went off each hour from 6:00 until  10:00.  We watched tv...mostly Hilo Bay, where you could see the ocean inhale and exhale.  In Moanalua Bay of Hawaii Kai, rocks were exposed by the withdrawing tide.

All the shopping centers were closed, gas stations ran out of gas...I went to Safeway about 3:00pm...first we couldn't ... more
