There are many things to do around tha Lake Oconee area during the year in all 3 counties of Greene, Morgan, and Putnam, which includes the cities of Greensboro, Madison, and Eatonton. Above is one of my favorites: The Southland Jubilee in Greensboro on April 17th from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. There will be vendors, food, music, car show, petting zoo, kids games, and more.
Most people visit the Lake Oconee area for the world class golfing at Reynolds Plantation, Great Waters, The Landings At Reynolds Plantation, The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Harbor Club, and Cuscowilla.
But, most people visit the lake to play on the 19,050 acre Georgia Power lake skiing, boating, fishing, or just hanging out at the Sand Bar to make new friends. The lake levels remain constant througout the year, so boating is available year round.
