Outrageous Decor - It Does Not Help Your Home's Value
I was showing homes to a client today when I walked into something that gave me more of a jar than my first cup of coffee.
Entering the foyer of a brand new home, I saw red. ... and lilac, maroon, olive green and, eventually a bright yellow kitchen. This was all within my initial eyeshot as I entered this house. I could not help but to gasp as the listing broker said, "Wait until you see upstairs."
On the second level there was a purple room, a bright pink room and a mint green room. In the master bedroom, there were green walls and dark brown wall to wall carpeting (completely different from the rest of carpeting on that level.)
This is something that I would usually expect of an older home that people have been gradually trying to redecorate over the years. But, this was a brand new home!
