Historic Homes of Denver: Neighborhood Series, LoDo, Denver
The Lower Downtown Neighborhood (LoDo) is the original settlement of the city of Denver.  The neighborhood, is immediately west of Downtown Denver.  LoDo covers a 23 block area and contains both a historic district and the latest urban housing in lofts, condos and townhomes. Over 100 of LoDo's red-brick warehouses and commercial buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries have been transformed into restaurants, bars, art galleries and loft apartments. 
LoDo is Denver's nightlife capital, packed with its trendiest restaurants, hottest bars and liveliest brewpubs.  On weekends, LoDo sparkles with life as people stroll from one restaurant, bar or club to the next. On weekends there are many special events, fairs and festivals in Larimer Square and throughout LoDo. There are 30 art galleries, over 100 restaurants and numerous clubs and boutiques in the area.
