WCR IN THE COMMUNITY - AMEREN UE BLOCK PARTY

 
Employer sponsored block parties can be a win-win situation for both the employer, employees and local business owners. It is a great opportunity for all because it builds relationships between businesses, it provides an affordable employee event and it allows local businesses to showcase their products and services.

On April 6, 2010, AmerenUE reached out to the Lafayette Square business community and sponsored its First Annual AmerenUE Block Party. The Block Party was held in the atrium and conference center of AmerenUE's corporate headquarters located just North of the Lafayette Square neighborhood. The Block Party was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and featured local Lafayette Square businesses. The Block Party raised the visibility of Lafayette Square's local businesses and created a bridge between these businesses and employees of AmerenUE. In today's commuter society, this personal one-on-one approach to marketing generated immediate interest among AmerenUE employees to explore the benefits of Lafayette Square. Over 300 AmerenUE employees and 30 Lafayette Square businesses participated in the event.
