World Entrepreneurship Day - Developing the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
World Entrepreneurship Day (WED) is a 24 hour world-wide celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation (taking place on April 16th, 2010). The mission of WED is to recognize and celebrate entrepreneurs and the contribution they make to both the economy and society. In 2009, over 22 countries joined in the celebration by hosting entrepreneurial activities or events in their communities. These included countries such as Senegal, Tanzania, Mexico, Thailand, Canada, Australia, Kenya, Nepal, India, Cameroon, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Greece, Morocco, Nigeria, Turkey, Ghana, Bosnia and Herzegovina. An estimated 12,000 people were impacted by WED 2009.
