GENERAL CLINTON CANOE REGATTA - MAY 28-31, 2010
Imagine paddling a canoe 70 miles in one day, challenging the elements and testng your endurance aganst the unpredictable Susquehanna River in upstate New York. The General Clinton Canoe Regatta attracts more than 3,000 paddlers to 50 races and culminates on Memorial Day wth the 70 miles endurance race from the beautiful Otsego Lake in Cooperstown NY to historic Bainbridge, NY; the world's longest single day flat water marathon canoe race.
The regatta has drawn world class athletes like US Gold Medalist Greg Barton, 28 time winner Canadan Serge Corban and racers from all over thee world. Plus, plenty of entertainment awaits paddlers and spectators; carnival rides, food vendors including Oneonta's famous Brook's BBQ Chicken, topped off with live music and fireworks!
Looking for something fun to do on the long Memorial Day weekend? Why not join the thousands of spectators n cheering on the paddlers. While you are here, there are penty of sights and sounds to explore, like the many fine museums including the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore House and the Farmers Museum.
