So the tax credit has expired but you are still very interested in Buying a home. What are your most sought after features?
One of the most recent studies I've read shows that homes today are getting slightly smaller than our most recent "McMansion's" of the recent boom. That's a good thing as some homes were large just for the sake of being large, no real thought put behind the actual layouts in some situations.
Here are the top 10 features that the National Association of Home Builders as of January 2010.
Walk-in closet in the master bedroom Laundry room Insulated front door Great room Low-e windows Linen closet Programmable thermostat Energy efficient appliances and lighting Separate shower & tub in the master bedroom 9 foot ceilings or higher on the first floor Again, I am asking what are your most sought after features today?
I of course have my own opinion on some of these. As much as I believe we should be building green or at the very least, as energy efficient as possible, I'm not sure I'd rank an insulated front door as #3. Important, you bet, number 3, not likely.
