Maple Ridge To Do - Fun Outing - Gold Panning up Golden Ears!
YES....
There is GOLD in them thar hills!!

I find it quite relaxing when I have a couple of free hours (Which is very seldom), to be able to drive 25 minutes up to Golden Ears Park, get out  on the river bank, and pan. 
Though I have only done this a couple of times, I have found a few flakes that are actually gold...
Most of them are fools gold... a magnet helps you tell the difference..
I think I am going to walk up to the waterfall next time and see if I can find a couple nuggets!
(Note:  Good time of year to go.. right after the run off... which carries the gold down)
Yes... I am a NOVICE.... Panner... but it is still fun and relaxing.
