A Little Good News Today
Foreclosures rise, unemployment continues, a catastrophic oil leak, and a world drowning in debt; is there no good news to be found? While we often lament the stories that fill our newspapers and airwaves, we don’t have to allow them to pull us down, to dishearten; attitude is a choice. We choose how we react to the events of each day. And, more importantly, our choice can create a little good news today, for we truly are the masters of our fate.
 
Occasionally when reading comments on my posts or those of others who, like me, report on the happenings in the economy, I’m dismayed by the number of responses from those who have chosen to allow the negative news to govern both their attitude and the direction of their lives. That’s a choice we don’t have to make.
 
While burying our heads in the sand will not make the bad news go away, we can control our reaction; and we can bring some good news to others. These tough economic times have brought suffering to millions; and there are lots of ways we can help. We can volunteer our services, contribute to local charities, prepare meals for those ... more
