Safest Place to Drive? Fort Collins!
Despite my driving record the people of Fort Collins are considered to be good drivers. Thanks to Dee for relaying this excellent information. I am glad my record doesn't damage te record of our town :)
Despite our occasionally ‘adventurous’ winter road conditions, Fort Collins has been named the NUMBER ONE city in America for ‘Best Drivers’.  Allstate Insurance Company compiles data to give honor to the top cities in terms of car collision frequency, road conditions and infrastructure in it’s second annual “America’s Safest Driving City” report.  According to the report, the average Fort Collins driver experiences an auto collision every 14.5 years, about 30% less than the national average.

Fort Collins Mayor Doug Hutchinson credits the people of Fort Collins.  He is quoted in the press release as saying "Becoming America's Safest Driving City takes quality roads and infrastructure. But more than anything else, it's the result of individuals taking responsibility for keeping our streets safe."*
Here is a handy reminder for how to keep our ‘safe driver’ badge firmly pinned in place:
