Herndon's Classic Homes and Properties. Photo tour of "Old Town" Herndon
 
 
If you have a Herndon address, there is a very good chance that the home you are living in was built after 1985.
Well, what did Herndon used to look like before it became a large star on the map of the Information Super Highway?
As my children would say, what did it look like in the "olden days" which to them means the 1960's.
 
 
 
 
 Herndon has many beautiful older homes that you may have been driving past for years without ever taking notice.
They actually have big yards and big trees as opposed to most of  the subdivisions which surround old town. The photo tour below is made up of  some of Herndon's oldest homes as well as some of  Old Town's commercial buildings. There are more photos coming in future posts....I'll link them.

How did Herndon get its name? A historical tidbit from Herndon Web:
"The tracks of the Alexandria, Loudoun and Hampshire Railroad came through the area around 1857 and led to a surge in Herndon's development.
