San Diego County median home price for August 2010
The median sales price for homes in San Diego County was $337,000 in August 2010. After reaching a low of $280,000 in February 2009, the median sales price has continued to steadily increase.

If your intent is to live in your home, raise your family there, and perhaps even retire there, it's always a great time to buy, but especially so right now with interest rates still at record lows and before home prices increase so far that your dream home is out of reach.
There are some areas where prices are still declining, mostly high-end areas, and there are other areas, such as Mission Valley, where multiple offers and great prices are causing the prices to increase faster than the median.
