What is the FIRST state to Require Solar Hot Water Systems in all Single Family Homes?
Solar Hot Water is making waves.
While the Raleigh NC area has seen an increase in number of solar water heaters installed, homes with solar hot water are still a very low percent of total homes available, partly because even with the tax credits available, there can still be a fairly significant out of pocket expense for installation. 
Very interesting that Hawaii now requires solar hot water in all new homes!

Answer: HAWAII  The Bill was signed into law last year in May by Republican Governor Linda Lingle, prohibits issuing building permits for single-family homes that do not have solar water heaters.
