EL TOUR DE TUCSON 2010...THIS SATURDAY!
One of Tucson's best known and most popular participatory events. Bicycles and spectators all over town!
Held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, El Tour is a fun ride attracting over 9,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities from throughout the United States and beyond, consisting of novice, intermediate, advanced, and professional riders. Southwest Airlines' in-flight magazine, Spirit (June 2001) named El Tour de Tucson "one of the premier organized rides in United States," and Bicycling Magazine (October 2002) ranked El Tour as "one of the top three fundraising rides" in the country.
I made the mistake (just once) of scheduling property showings the day of the race.
Big error on my part. Very dangerous driving that day. Seriously!
So, although we love the ride and all that it does for the city, my advice is not to drive any more than is absolutely necessary. Certainly if there is any way around it, don't show homes on Saturday. Move showings to Sunday, like I did, for this weekend.
Be safe, and help keep the routes safe for bikes this Saturday.
