I Am So Vindicated-A Quick Rant!
When I wrote "Saying No To Generic Market Reports"  I got a couple of off-line emails taking me to task for saying that there was very little value to the generic market reports that are posted by agents every month throughout the country.  Obviously since I am in the DC market I know all too well how wide the values can be neighborhood to neighborhood.
Today the Washington Post, who puts out monthly reports by zip code, had an article that tried to explain the difference in market values that don't match up.  DUH!  If they would just listen to the agents who are front and center every day we could tell them that the generic reports are a waste of pen and ink.
I think they could have just jumped to the bottom of the article and left all of the statistics in between out.  In fact they should have printed the bottom line on the front page.  But hey that might make buyers realize that they shouldn't be buying the paper in the first place.
Read full Washington Post article. I feel better now, thanks for letting me have a little rant.
