It's Thanksgiving, So On With the Season!
Thanksgiving starts for many in New Jersey (particularly north Jersey) this afternoon with a trip through the tunnel and on up to 77th and Columbus, arriving at NYC's the Museum of Natural History.  That’s where the giant balloons are inflated for tomorrow’s 84th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  The balloon inflation draws thousands, and offers a chance to see these characters come to life!  There will be two new balloon characters this year in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade…a balloon from Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Po from Kung Fu Panda.   The new balloons make their debut flight tomorrow, along with veteran balloons Kermit the Frog, Snoopy, Spongebob Squarepants, Buzz Lightyear, Pikachu, Horton, Smurf, Shrek, Hello Kitty and last year's newbies, Sailor Mickey, Ronald McDonald, Spiderman and the Pillsbury Dough Boy. For some the parade isn't all about balloons so there will also be seven new floats, marching bands, clowns and other performers.  
Let's not forget it's called the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and in keeping with tradition Santa is up last, signalling the start of the Christmas shopping season.
