While I am not a hunter I do understand the need to control the population of our wild animals-so ok. My issue is not with the hunting of deer but with living with them.  I live in NW Indiana just south of Chicago and it is in no way a rural area.  Going to and from my office I drive a strip of road that is two lanes with two turn lanes making it a four lane road.  Over the last several weeks I have had to stop to let assorted deer cross the road to avoid smashing into them.  Ok I've got 5 minutes I can spare to save a life.  Mine and or the deer's!!  My problem is my fellow drivers.  Last night at 7:15 I came upon a heard of 7 deer trying to cross in the same spot on the same busy street.  Trying to help, I stopped in the middle of the street, put on my flashers and began flashing my headlights to get the attention of other drivers.  No one paid any attention to me.  It was like a race track.  Fortunately for the deer and the ... more
