Home Energy Savings Program set to expire-Diane Plant Re/Max Realtron
Good information to pass along to your past clients and those who have just moved in.
The Ontario government has announced that the retrofit rebate portion of the Home Energy Savings Program will expire in March of 2011. Introduced in 2007, the Home Energy Savings
Program was designed to improve the energy efficiency of Ontario's housing stock by providing rebates and incentives to homeowners who conducted home energy audits and installed energy efficient retrofits.
Under the program homeowners were eligible for up to $150 in home energy auditing rebates and $5,000 in energy efficient retrofit rebates. While the Government of Ontario will continue to help homeowners who conduct home energy audits, it will stop accepting applications for retrofit rebates on March 31, 2011.
For more information on how you can apply for energy audit and retrofit rebates visit the Energy Savings Program http://www.mei.gov.on.ca/en/energy/conservation/?page=home-energy-audit-and-retrofit-rebate-programsOREA has been a strong supporter of the Home Energy Savings Program that encourages homeowners to voluntarily assess and improve the energy efficiency of their home.
