Social Media Marketing - Are you a Personal Marketer or a Pest marketer??
 
I don't consider myself the guru of social media networking or know all about the different marketing aspects of it, but I do think I have a good handle on it. What I don't understand and what irks the hell out of me, are those direct messages from those that you follow on Twitter. Espcially those that send you an auto direct message thanking you for following them, but they must validate you first. I will get there in a minute.

 
 

 
Here are the last 5 direct messages that I received today after following someone. Now, don't get me wrong. I consider myself to be a very polite person, and that I always thank people. But I believe in the personal method of thanking or reciprocating. In my opinion, these kinds of auto direct messages are like spam to me.  Hey, I followed you for a reason. If I want to read something of yours, or connect with you on facebook, I am not dumb. And don't try to sell me something or poof, off you go into the cesspool of deleted direct messages.
