Just Add Water
I just showed a Foreclosed property today that was like one of those crazy Fun Houses you go through at a Carnival. The floors were buckled and the walls were uneven. It was something I couldn't explain. The buyers and I went outside and saw that the empty swimming pool had collapsed. One of the walls had broken in and the dirt from the back yard was filling it. This was an in ground swimming pool. The listing agent said the pool was crushed from the pressure of the ground. I had never seen anything like it. I had heard about empty swimming pools 'popping out' because of the water table level in the soil but never to where it affected the actual house.
The listing agent said it was going to take quite a bit to repair and he got an estimate of $16,000.00 to repair the home alone. My buyers passed on it but I'm sure somebody will snap it up. It was getting alot of traffic and the price was hard to walk away from.
