Ringing in 2011 in Times Square
For those who wanted to brave the crowds, Times Square was filled with people wearing party hats and 2011 glasses as confetti stormed down and a crystal ball dropped into the New Year for a New York experience.
Heather Yoklem from the Bronx screamed "It's awesome!" as New York and the world happily said goodbye to 2010 and welcomed in 2011, a year for hope.
Tony and Amanda Harouch of Brooklyn, along with their 12 and 14 year-old kids thought it was indescribable. From reports I received there were several families celebrating in Times Square with younger children than the Harouch's kids. Not sure if New Year's Eve in Times Square is a place for kids but reports called into me this morning said that they all had a great time!
Revelers staked their real estate positions from about 1PM in the afternoon so they could view the festivities from the front of the police barricades. For those who had the fortune to have an office in Times Square or know someone who had an office in Times Square, luck was on their side as they didn't have to brave the swarming crowds.
