If You Don't Adjust for Conditions You May Wind Up in the Ditch!Those of us that deal with snow every winter know that you have to adjust your driving style for conditions or you may wind up in the ditch like the car in the picture! Well, you could liken the current real estate market to driving in the snow. It's slippery out there! During the Summer years of real estate, your agent could get away with sticking a sign in the yard, a bare bones MLS entry with a few photos and you'd probably get sold for a good price DESPITE the inadequate marketing and presentation. Then the market started getting cooler, and homes started "fall"-ing off the ownership tree, a foreclosure here and there, a short sale here and there, prices started to come down, but few thought a real storm was coming! But WINTER did arrive.  Days on market went to weeks and then months.  Inventory built up.  Buyers decided the market belonged to THEM and not YOU the seller.  It had to be so, every TV show, newspaper and magazine were telling them so!!
