Hanging around at the Oakland Zoo!
I took my son to the Zoo on Saturday, and had a great time.  This zoo is more Kid-Friendly than most, and not quite as expensive as others.  There is a kids area with rides, a train and a children's zoo section. I took some pictures of some great animals
I caught this picture of a White Handed Gibbon flying around in the trees.  He would stop and stare at you, it was kinda cool!

My son loved the alligators!  There were four of them!

The Giraffes were huge and right there!  They were in one the biggest exhibits!

The Malayan Flying Fox exhibit was my favorite!  It reminded me of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, when she said to Indy, "ohh, look at the birds!" and he replied, "Those aren't birds, their bats!" 

And of course, everyone loves the Tigers!
Admission: Adults $12.50 (kids 2-14 are $8.50).  But remember, parking is $7.  It's open 10-4pm weather permitting...
