The Blank Stare!!
Here in North Carolina we are so  familiar with  the "blank stare."   What is that you say....well if you are a consumer...be aware....any time you look at a home in North Carolina the showing agent should be giving you a copy of the "Working with Agents Brochure." 
   What?   You mean they didn't give it to you when they meet you at a property or meet you in their office before putting you in their car.....well they are breaking the law.....  they should be handing you the brochure, explaining it to you and asking you to sign it....No...its not a contract....it is merely a disclosure of how agents work in NC and how they can represent you.  They can work for the seller, the buyer or both...you choose.  
Today....I experienced the "blank stare" once again... It is amazing how many agents do not give out this brochure when they first meet a client. Keep this in mind when  choosing an agent to represent you.  They should be following the law.  Keep your eye out  for the "Working with Agents Brochure.".....you'll then know you have the right agent.
