Muscari - Grape Hyacinth
March 19, 2011
I am enjoying the Muscari, also known as the Grape Hyacinth in my yard in Flower Mound which is located in close proximity to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
The plant grows well at the foot of Post Oak Trees in the corner of my yard where it gets a lot of shade. I began planting Grape Hyacinth in 1998. They have come up every year, without fail. I do nothing to take care of them and they seem to enjoy their own independence. I feel lucky to have them in my garden because they always signal that Spring is here and it's here to stay.
I love the little bells that cluster like grapes on this bulb plant. The little white edge shows off the delicacy of this nice spring flower. They say the flowers are bright blue, but I see purple! How about you?
