In the midst of lots of chaos and disaster, things are being redeemed! There is an epidemic in Haiti of young single moms with no way to support their family. A group called Heartline has come together in efforts to reverse the darkness and chaos. Among the many amazing things that Heartline is doing to help the people of Haiti, their women's programs are some of my favorites. YOU can help these women just by purchasing a new purse or jewelry. You know you are going to buy one anyways, may as well give some life to these lovely women! Here's a statement from Heartline about their sewing program:   Our first sewing class started on February 18, 2008 with fifteen women and seven graduated.  Five of the women who graduated have started to earn money from their sewing skills.  Even those who did not complete the class have gained skills that are allowing them to earn some money.  Three of the graduates have earned enough money to purchase their own sewing machines.   In fact, one woman has made enough money that she has been able to bring her children back from the village so that they can live with ... more
