Three Things I'm Thankful for This Thursday


It seems like every single day comes a little faster.  When I open my eyes in the morning and look at the day ahead, every thing is spread out before me and the possibilities are endless.  Then I blink my eyes and it's dinner time!
 
Here in Colorado, we have had a bear of a spring.  (Granted, we haven't had one of those snowstorms that buries us, but it has been known to snow as late as June around here!)  It has been rainy and windy too many days to count.  
 
Until this week.  Just this morning, the calm air and bright sunshine literally made me stop in my tracks and look around.  Here are three things I noticed that made me thankful this day:
1. The smell of lilacs.  It has been so windy around here that just breathing has been tricky, but today I actually smelled the lilacs.  It's such a spring smell- sunshine on lilacs.
2. A peaceful neighborhood.  As I stood in my yard, I appreciated my little sanctuary from the world.  I also realized that the only sounds I could hear were birds chirping ... more
