The Ban: One More Nail In The Coffin For Print Advertising
Print advertising is dead, or at least on it's deathbed. San Francisco's Board of Supervisors voted 10-1 to pass legislation restricting the delivery of phone books to only those folks requesting a copy. The legislation will face a customary second reading next week of which is expected to pass making San Francisco the first government in the nation to ban unrequested delivery of what amounts to fireplace kindling!
Print Advertising For Real Estate Marketing Is Dead Also As a real estate company we do not do print advertising and our clients know this up front. During a listing presentation we inform the client that print advertising is for real estate agents who are not abreast of current technology to market their home. We simply have the client Google, "Does Print Advertising Work To Sell A Home" and there is more than enough information written to support our point.
But, But, But What About Packing Material?Currently, we use our phone books for packing material. What the heck am I gonna do when they ban phone books in our area? Yikes! I guess I'll go to plan B, using our local rag (newspaper), which is also on it's way out.
