Pretty good news overall.
RE the Wallow fire...The Wallow Fire burning in Eastern Arizona is now 58 percent contained by a crew of 3,389. Though the fire is now at 529,825 acres, only one of the fire's three "zones" is actively burning outside the perimeter. The other two zones are creeping and smoldering through unburned interior islands, according to incident officials.
 
RE the Horseshoe2 fire… amazing news on this fire. The Horseshoe 2 Fire is 95 percent contained as firefighters are on track to have the Horseshoe 2 Fire contained by today, the date originally estimated for containment of the 222,954-acre blaze burning near Portal, AZ.
RE The Monument fire…the Monument fire is now 59% contained outside SIERRA VISTA, AZ ,according to the Incident Management Team. It has burned 28,236 acres and damaged or destroyed 57 homes, 42 outbuildings, 5 vehicles and 6 buses. The buses were parked at the time, not moving, and not in the process of escaping the fire!
Now if we can just keep drunks and fireworks separated until it starts to rain…ah well.
