CLEVELAND --Boston slugger Manny Ramirez says "who cares?" if the Red Sox don't get to the World Series. "It's not like it's the end of the world." But he also says "Why should we panic?" because "we've got a great team."
The American League Championship Series resumes tonight. The Cleveland Indians need one more win to go to the World Series for the first time in 10 years. The Indians have not won a World Series since 1948.
Meanwhile, the Boston Red Sox are trying to figure out how to come back from their current 3-1 deficit. Manager Terry Francona is familiar with playoff comebacks. His Red Sox were down 0-3 to the New York Yankees in 2004 before winning that series and the World Series.
Boston has dropped three straight after winning the series opener. Josh Beckett is Boston's starter in Game 5. The major league's only 20-game winner picked up the win in Game 1 with yet another strong postseason performance and is 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA in the 2007 postseason.
Cleveland's 19-game winner, C.C. Sabathia, gets the starting assignment for the Indians.
