Allergies & "Green" Environmental benefit of Solid Surface Flooring verses Carpet
Our environment is of much concern to many globally in our trying to be "green" & of course our health is of utmost importance & our longevity. 
We should preserve our resources and try to be as "green" & preserving as possible, as we are not certain how long those resources for our future children & generations will last, or be able to renewed.  Heaven forbid any other natural or unnatural disasters that we have not yet encountered occur. 
It has already been proved that carpet imposes numerous health issues.  There are factors ranging from the chemicals in the dyes to the tremendous amounts of dust, dirt & mold they retain.
I have learned the health aspects of a solid surface environment "first hand" from my own experiences with having a carpeted environment.  I have severe allergies & have been asthmatic since I was two years old.  My parents didn't really realize that my asthma was contributed from environmental allergies...they were aware of some food allergies.  I believe that testing was more limited as well back then.  There were also other conveniences that were not yet available such as central air-conditioning, advanced filtration systems, and air purifiers.   No offense to my parents but it was amazing ... more
