July Dane County foreclosures lowest in over 3 years
Dane County foreclosures decreased for the 7th month out of the last 8, and the 11th month out of the last 14. A total of 90 foreclosures were filed in July, a decrease of 38.4% from the 146 foreclosures filed in July of 2010. The graph below shows the monthly foreclosure filings dating back to January of 2005. As the graph shows, July's foreclosure total was the lowest monthly total since June of 2008, when 89 foreclosures were filed.
 
 
Foreclosures remain high by historical standards. This graph shows the number of Dane County foreclosures filed in every July dating back to 2004. The 90 foreclosures filed in July of 2011 were up by 350% from the 20 foreclosures filed in July of 2004.
