Mother Nature and Your House--Is Your Asset Covered?
I had just commented on this valuable post by Norma Toering, but thought it was well worth sharing in light of the Hurricane that is on it's way to the East Coast!
The East Coast of the USA is busy battling the forces of Mother Nature.  Earthquakes and their aftershocks have yet to subside and Hurricane Irene is barreling toward the shoreline.  The weather and geological gods are bullying the east coast this week to be sure.
 
Those of us on the West Coast are familiar with earthquakes that rattle our buildings and our nerves.  We cannot predict their arrival but we can prepare for it.  Hurricanes gift their soon to be recipients with a few days lead time to batten down the hatches, evacuate or stockpile supplies.  Preparedness is the one step everyone can take whether the natural event be a tornado, flood, fire, earthquake or hurricane.
 
Aside from personal safety and basic needs it is important to also evaluate insurance policies.  Know what is covered and if the amount is sufficient to cover your needs.  Insurance is an important part of planning for a natural disaster.  The best time to review your policy is before disaster strikes.
