University of Maryland Commemorates 9/11
A series of events are scheduled throughout the week at The University of Maryland in College Park to commemorate 9/11/2001, including a blood drive organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.  This blood drive is part of a nationwide campaign to honor the vicitims of 9/11 and spread the message that Islam emphasizes the sanctity of life.
The blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, in the Grand Ballroom at the Adele H. Stamp Student Union on campus.
Other scheduled events at the University include a 4-part web series, a concert, and a walk of remembrance.

This photo was taken on 9/11 from Hoboken, where my son and his wife lived.  He was sitting on his rooftop deck enjoying a cup of coffee when he saw the low-flying plane go into the first tower.  His wife had flown out a short while earlier and his fear, of course, was that his wife was on the plane.
