Diane Sawyer had a show wherein she asked a family to inventory everything in their home and get rid of anything that isn't made in the United States. It resulted in the family practically emptying their house.

Their challenge was to try to find products that are made in the U.S.A. to replace what they removed.
It took a while, but they did it.
There is a movement to Buy American
Start with the book by Roger Simmermaker titled How Americans Can Buy American  If you go to his website, you can register to have his Retail E-Guide to more than 2,500 American-made products that you can find at retails stores like Dillard's, Home Depot, T.J.Maxx and Costco.
Also check out Made in USA Certified that bills itself as "the leading, non-partisan, independent third party, certification company for the 'Made in the USA:, 'Product of the USA' and 'Serivce in the USA' claims.
