Paradis Ice Cream in Los Feliz Village
A new, slimmer version of ice cream hits Los Feliz Village in 2011

Paradis Ice Cream moved into Los Feliz village at 1726 N. Vermont in April this year, replacing the Pinkberry store (or Crackberry to the rest of us).  Paradis bills itself as “Fresh Ice Cream Made Daily.”
Paradis is a small chain of ice cream shops in Denmark, known for their fresh flavors and natural ingredients.  When Mia Pedersen, her boyfriend and her brother moved to LA from Denmark, they decided to import the concept here and struck a deal with the Paradis owners to start the only U.S. franchise stores (there is a store in Montrose and a brand new store this week opening in Long Beach).

The ice cream is indeed made fresh every day, depending on what ingredients are in the market.  The ice cream is made with only real, fresh flavors, and less fat than the average American ice cream, and with only 20% air whipped in.  To find out what the day’s flavors are, you can check out their Facebook page.  Some of today’s flavors included;  Stracciatella, Ferrero Rocher, Salted Caramel, Strawberry buttermild, Chocolate Sorbet, Mint/Lime sorbet.
Somehow, ... more
