Wind Turbines in a Residential Setting and property values
Has anyone seen a wind turbine installation in a residential neighborhood setting? I am curious what others think about the potential affect on property values, etc.
If you were in your backyard grilling or relaxing reading a book and you saw or heard a fairly large wind turbine on the next door neighbor's property or even a few properties away, would your "quiet use and enjoyment" be affected? Would it impact your decision on purchasing the property if it were for sale?
I have read some of NAR's Field Guide to Wind Farms...but with the push for green and alternative energy becoming more and more mainstream, I wonder how much this will creep into the suburbs, just like gas fracking wells are becoming pervasive here in Ohio, even in highly developed suburban communities.
From high tension power transmission lines behind developments, to radon, mold, gas fracking wells, unstable soils, and the like, the real estate industry is forever being impacted by nature and technology.
