Visiting Door County in 2014: the Cape Cod of the Midwest
Planning a trip to Door County, Wisconsin in 2014?  Each year, more than two million visitors like to visit and claim this jewel as their own---even if it's only for an afternoon on a gas-tank getaway.  Planning a Door County vacation is the first step in falling in love with Door County and, eventually, purchasing a Door County home or condominium.
 
With over 300 miles of scenic shoreline dotted with bustling harbors and quiet coves (more than any other County in the United States!), Door County offers a wealth of water-based recreation year-round.  Combine that with five state parks (again, more than any other County in Wisconsin), more than a dozen county parks, ten lighthouses (several open to the public), and a huge emphasis on the arts, recreation, dining, silent sports and entertaining, and you have truly discovered the “Cape Cod of the Midwest”.
 
This morning I had the privilege of visiting an area east of Sister Bay, WI called North Bay; an inlet off of Lake Michigan.  With the late sun rising over the ice, it looked like millions of diamonds were sparkling along the water.
