Rhode Island: Testimonial for a Great Inspector - House Doctor Home Inspections


Every prospective home-buyer needs a good home inspection. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Unfortunately, there are too many Sellers out there that are willing to try to cover up a defect at a property in order to get the best price on their sale. Now, don't label me a Negative Nancy or Debbie Downer... it's just the simple truth. And buyer beware... some (not many) realtors may recommend a not-so-qualified home inspector in order to get to the closing table as soon as possible.

Another post today by Paul Silver addressed a "sadly unprofessional home inspector, who walked through the property explaining his opinions and forecasting doom for the property, all the while repeating that Realtors hate him." I don't support this type of activity. However, I also do not support the activities of Realtors who try (in order to possibly preserve the sale) to talk away serious issues that are discovered during the inspection. If something is discovered, the inspection should be used as ammunition to have a serious issue addressed or to give the prospective Buyer a chance to walk away from a nightmare.
