The new homes at The Tides in Carlsbad are being built within .6 miles of the beach on a hill just east of the 5 freeway.
 
That means there may be some views from certain homes.
 
But it also means there is some noise from the freeway and also from Poinsettia, and major exit off the freeway.
 
These Carlsbad homes closest to the freeway will have some special noise abatements in place, with a large wall and triple-pane windows. The next few rows of homes will be somewhat shielded by other homes but there still will be noise (the noise levels are above the code requirement so nothing else needs to be done per code).
