Weekend Fun, Knoxville Style! (1/13-16)
Knoxville Weekenders finally saw a bit of winter tonight (1/12), but that winter weather won't be staying around very long, sorry to say! If you are not volunteering for, or a spectator of, the Extreme Makeover house, there are other things to do, this weekend. Being that we are also entering a long weekend celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, let's see what is going on for some Weekend Fun, Knoxville Style!
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Commemorative Commission is hosting numerous events throughout the region. Events started on Wednesday (1/11) and will continue through Monday (1/16). You can check here for a list of events, times and places. The events end with a parade and memorial service on Monday.
Saturday (1/14) the YWCA is hosting the annual Race Against Racism. Registration begins at 11:30 am at the YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center at 124 S. Cruze Street, Knoxville.
The Oak Ridge Art Center presents Ebony Imagery XIV, from January 15 through March 10. The opening reception (1/15) is from 2-4 pm and features black artists.
