"You're A Blogger?? You Must REALLY Need Somebody To Talk To!"
What’s the strangest thing someone has said to you after you’ve told them you blog?  Now that I’m a real live blogger (thank you ActiveRain) I tell most EVERYONE I meet that I blog on the ActiveRain site.  For some odd-Dr. Phil-kind-of-reason, I feel compelled to “share the love” with others by expressing my personal viewpoint on the benefits of ActiveRain and blogging.  Let’s just say -- not everyone embraces my viewpoint.  Consequently, I have been on the receiving end of some interesting responses.
I attend a lot of networking events.  And, through the course of networking, it’s only natural to share what you do and where you do it.  It's been no great newsflash to discover that not everyone blogs.  Not uncommon at all.   In my former life, I didn’t blog either.  Most non-bloggers typically say “I have nothing to write about” or “I don’t know how to write” or “I don’t have time to write.”  Yet, most non-bloggers I meet grasp the concept of blogging, and they understand the theory behind the benefits of blogging.  It just seems that the fear of "jumping in" is too overwhelming.  Believe me, I know -- I've been there.  But, then there are ... more
